LOVE DEATH & TAXES - The uncertainty of our digital life, 2019
A cross-stitch exhibition by a happy artist.
Images culled from social media were meticulously cross stitched by hand onto filing “kwiksort” cards. By transferring a digital image to this traditional medium of cross stitch, it forced me to slow down and contemplate our collective communication process. It depicts digital popular culture and the visual imagery we seek to communicate with and to distract ourselves from reality. Whether it is gaming or memes, this quick-fix visual stimulation is fast becoming a replacement for personal communication.
