I was only 34 days old when the first man stepped onto the moon on July 20th 1969. I obviously don't remember it but the image of Neil Armstrong in his spacesuit, captured on that truly historicday day, feels like it has been part of my life always...which it technically has.

I was twelve years old when the South African band Ballyhoo, formed in 1974, had a massive hit with Man on the Moon in 1981. It spent a whopping 19 weeks in the SA charts and is still capable of creating an "earworm" with its catchy but bizarre lament on the perils of loving "two pretty ladies".

I remember this hit well.
